What are Juvéderm® fillers?
Juvéderm® fillers, made from hyaluronic acid (HA), are an effective cosmetic volumizing and contouring solution. HA fillers are an excellent choice for cosmetic enhancement because HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body. With different formulations tailored to specific needs, these fillers can temporarily restore lost volume in the midface and plump lips, minimize deeper folds, smooth out lines and wrinkles, and enhance overall skin hydration and smoothness.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in the skin, joints, and eyes. It plays a crucial role in retaining moisture, volume, and softness in the skin by binding water molecules to it. As a natural substance, the HA in fillers gradually breaks down and is absorbed naturally by the body.
The Juvéderm family of fillers includes a variety of formulations designed to address specific areas and concerns. Here’s a summary of the different Juvéderm fillers and their uses:
- Juvéderm® Ultra XC: Enhances lip fullness and is also used to smooth facial wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth.
- Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC: A more robust formulation ideal for correcting deeper facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds.
- Juvéderm® Voluma® XC: Specifically designed to address volume loss in the mid-face and improve cheek contours. Voluma® has also been approved to augment and improve the chin profile.
- Juvéderm® Vollure® XC: Targets moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, by adding subtle volume and smoothing lines for a more youthful appearance.
- Juvéderm® Volbella® XC: Tailored for lip augmentation and smoothing vertical lip lines’ appearance, providing subtle enhancement and natural-looking results. Volbella® is also approved to help minimize the appearance of undereye hollow
- Juvéderm® Volux® XC: Designed to enhance jawline definition by adding volume
